It looked like Dahlqvist's day would be short after she came third in the quarterfinals and thus was knocked out.

But the runner-up, Lotta Udnes Weng, was disqualified and Dahlqvist was in the match again.

- It's almost a bit like a bonus, it's just to thank and receive and enjoy that you get to drive with this audience once again, Dahlqvist says.

Dahlqvist then went all the way to the final, where Jonna Sundling was the superior winner.

But behind Sundling, Dahlqvist entered the riot in a battle for third place against the American Julia Kern.

Dahlqvist, who had a hard day, found extra strength and was able to pinch a podium place.

- I have an angel on my shoulder this year, I think.

I've had so much post in heaven.

That I would make it to the final and stand on the podium is a real bonus today.

If it was far into Lahti and Drammen, it was really far into today, says Maja Dahlqvist.

Got to lift the globe

Maja Dahlqvist had already secured the overall victory in the sprint cup.

But today she finally got to lift the glass globe and also had to do it at home.

- I am super happy and super proud, it is a "Big deal" for a sprinter to win this, says Dahlqvist and looks at the glass globe in his hand.

- It's nice, it's something you can have in front maybe.
