Djurgården had the chance to get past Malmö up to twelfth place and thus leave the negative SHL qualifying place.

But Malmö, who met Linköping during the evening, got off to a flying start and won 7-0.

However, the Stockholm team did their part against Leksand in a match where the second period came to be a real goal celebration.

Seven minutes into the middle period, Leksand took the lead in powerplay.

Tim Söderlund was shown two minutes for boarding after tackling 17-year-old Lian Bischel.

Leksandsbacken remained lying for a while before he went out into the locker room and Tegera arena called for a match penalty.

That did not happen, which created some irritation for the home team.

On the other hand, there were happier faces a minute later when they took the lead in the numerical superiority through Mikael Ruohomaa.

However, Djurgården's reply came just a few minutes later when Emile Poirier, who joined in February, scored his first goal for the Stockholm team.

"Every match is important"

With two minutes of the period left, Djurgården also took through Marcus Sörensen - and only 17 seconds later Niclas Bergfors put 3-1.

But Leksand responded quickly through Patrik Zackrisson and Djurgården went to the break with a 3-2 lead in the back.

The third period was not as offensively crackling at all and the result lasted a long time.

But with 5.54 left to play, Djurgården was able to expand when Eric Gelinas, new from Rögle during the season, shot in the final result 4-2.

- Every match is important.

We came out strong today and dictated the pace, says Eric Gelinas to C More.

The result means that Djurgården has 57 points, right now in a negative qualifying place.

The distance up to Malmö is still one point and Skånelaget has one more match to play.
