There was no World Cup finish in Tiumen, Russia.

This weekend, the World Cup in Falun ends, a message that meant that Maja Dahlqvist secured the victory in the sprint cup, after her fourth place in Drammen.

- Winning the sprint cup is a big thing and I am super happy that I can do it now, she says to SVT Sport.

How did it go when you found out?

- I did not really know if there would be another competition or not.

I just heard that it started ringing on the phone and just wait, people can stop congratulating me on this cup because I'm not done yet.

But then I went in and read and realized I had won.

So then I had to pop a foam at home with Kevin (Bolger), it was nice that it was ready, says Dahlqvist.

"Been above expectations"

Dahlqvist is the third Swede to win the sprint cup.

Those who have done it before are Stina Nilsson and Linn Svahn.

- It is big.

I thought there had been more who did it.

Did you think it would go so well before the season?

- No, if someone had said before the season that I had won the sprint cup and taken three Olympic medals, I would have thanked and received and been super happy.

It has been above expectations, says the 27-year-old.

Mentally stressful season

But the ski season has not just been a dance on roses.

- After the Olympics, I crashed quite a lot, I had not driven anything before Lahti and relaxed quite a lot when I got home.

It has been a mentally stressful season and then it was mostly the sprint cup I went for and was up and gasping for air in Lahti and in Drammen to motivate me for the sprint cup, that was what drove me the most, she says.
