Leicester star Vardy out for several weeks with a knee injury

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers announced today that striker Jamie Vardy will be out for several weeks after sustaining a knee injury during the 1-0 win over Leeds United in the Premier League.

Vardy, 35, is Leicester's top scorer in the league this season, with ten goals.

"Vardy will be out," Rodgers told reporters ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with Stade Rennes.

"Unfortunately he sustained an injury in the last match and will be out for several weeks, which is unfortunate. He bruised his knee, but we hope he will recover in three or four weeks."

"He felt pain the day after the last match. This is very disappointing for us (for the club and for the player)."

Leicester is 12th in the league and will host Arsenal in the Premier League next Sunday.
