Tomas Kollar was assistant coach to Malmö's former head coach Joakim Fagervall.

He has since shouldered the role of head coach after Fagervall was fired and in the meantime the club was looking for a new coach.

But now it looks like Kollar will continue the season.

Patrik Sylvegård says that the search for a new coach has been put on hold.

- When it does not become the names we feel we want then we drive on as it is.

There has been no panic in any way.

There were some coaches who were available and we tried to find a solution but it did not work out so then it must be, says Sylvegård.

Full confidence

Sylvegård believes that they had full confidence in Kollar, and also Per Strid, all the time.

But the idea was to support them.

- There is still no one we believe who will come in and be a savior, but it was a support to Kollar and Frid.

It's good to be three, because it's a lot, he says.

But because they have not found what they were looking for, they choose to support in another way.

- Then we support others around here in the organization.

Now we drive on Kollar fully, it is Kollar and Frid who drive, says Sylvegård.

Do not agree with Brynäs

Among the names discussed was old Brynäs coach Peter Andersson.

It looked for a while that he would be the one to take the role.

But the clubs did not reach an agreement and he is no longer relevant.

- They wanted us to take over his remaining 14 months (of their contract), but that was not the spirit.

We needed someone to help us throughout the year, then Peter would have been a solution.

And of course he would have done well, perhaps the chance would have been greater for both him and Brynäs that we had taken him, but we were not prepared to take there.

Therefore, nothing happened, says Sylvegård.

Malmö is not actively looking for a coach in any way according to Sylvegård, but Tomas Kollar is the head coach - at the moment.

- Right now it's like that, but then you know as well as I do that it can change quickly, says Patrik Sylvegård.
