Sudanese media revealed that the Confederation of African Football decided to transfer the second leg of the African Champions League between Al-Marikh and Al-Ahly of Egypt to be held in Sudan instead of Cairo.

The two teams were scheduled to meet on Friday, March 18, in Cairo, as part of the fifth round matches, after Al-Marikh had chosen to play his matches in the tournament on the Egyptian stadiums, before changing his opinion and deciding to play the Al-Ahly match in the second leg at his home in Omdurman.

For its part, Egyptian media reported, on Tuesday, including Al-Watan newspaper, that the Confederation of African Football decided to transfer the match after the end of the official period, Monday, to amend the date and hold of any match in the group stage, which was determined by “K”.

Al-Marikh club had moved during the past hours, and requested that the match be transferred to Sudan, at Al Hilal Stadium in Omdurman, in light of its increased chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.

Al-Merrikh and Al-Ahly share the second place with four points, while the South African Sun Downs leads the first group with seven points, and the Sudanese Crescent is at the bottom of the standings with one point.
