It was during a CL match in January that Nina Koppang left the pitch with shortness of breath.

It was then speculated that it was due to poor condition when she had just returned from an elbow injury.

- I was out of breath as soon as I played, but thought it was because I did not have much handball in my body after the injury with my arm, says Nina Koppang to GP, about a month after the match.

When she then visited the hospital, the doctors thought she had corona.

But it would turn out that the problems were not due to poor condition or covid-19.

At Koppang's second doctor's visit, it was clear that she had suffered from blood clots in her lungs.

The cause is unclear

The cause of the blood clots is still unclear, but an investigation is underway into the background to them.

- I do not know much right now, but focus on feeling better.

I do not want to put energy into what happens in the future, says Koppang.

Nina Koppang made her national team debut about a year ago, during the same year she made her elite debut in the top team Sävehof.

But now she is forced to take an indefinite break.

- I miss handball as soon as I watch a training session or match.

It does not feel like something like this could happen, says Nina Koppang.

Medicated

Koppang is conducting tests and return visits and she hopes to get a clearer picture of the situation in the coming months.

But she is medicated and her mood seems to be going in the right direction.

- I feel better with each passing day, which is nice, says Nina Koppang.
