According to the information released by the Basketball Association, the player talent pool is classified according to different competition systems, according to the classification of five-a-side basketball, three-person basketball and U23 three-person basketball, and the men's basketball team and the women's basketball team are respectively equipped for talent candidates.

The five-person men's basketball talent pool includes active registered players in the CBA league, recently selected national team second team (19-22 years old) talent pool players and players who played in overseas leagues during the national team selection.
Yi Jianlian, Zhou Qi, Guo Ailun, etc. were selected into the five-man men's basketball talent pool.
The target athletes of the five-person women's basketball team include active registered athletes in the WCBA league, athletes selected for the talent pool of the second national team (19-22 years old) recently, and athletes who played in overseas leagues during the national team selection.
Li Meng, Yang Shuyu and Yang Liwei were selected into the five-person women's basketball talent pool.

As for the entry criteria of the Chinese coaches of the five-a-side basketball national team, in principle, the age should not exceed 60 years old, and they should have one of the following coaching experience or coaching achievements:
1. Recently served as the head coach or assistant coach of the five-a-side basketball national team or the national Olympic team (national second team);
2. In the recent stage, have more than 3 consecutive years of coaching experience as the head coach of an adult team;
3. During the recent period as the head coach, he has achieved the top 12 results in the CBA, WCBA Basketball Professional League or the National Games (senior group);
4. Chinese nationals who have recently served as head coaches in influential high-level professional leagues overseas;
5. Chinese nationals who have recently served as head coaches or assistant coaches in other outstanding national teams.
