From our special correspondent in Madrid,

Less than 36 hours to shoot before the big night, and everyone has their little worries at the moment.

On the Madrid side, it is Toni Kroos' left thigh that worries at least as much as Kylian Mbappé's left foot.

The German regulator of the legendary environment of the white house, the one who decides the rhythm and the length of the crosses, wants to force to be in it, even if we would not put our LDD there.

He has started mid-day training with the group anyway and feelings are mixed about him.

Kroos aligned without being 100%?

Our Spanish colleagues still have Zidane's choice to line up Sergio Ramos and Ferland Mendy last year in the semi-final return to Stamford Bridge in their throats, and Ancelotti still has his ears ringing from having launched a rickety Benzema entrance to the Park.

Hence the Italian's terse response at a press conference.

“If Toni is 100% he will play, if he is 95% he will not play”.

Yeah.

Luka Modric, questioned just before, was a little more outspoken: "I think that these matches we want all the players, but I agree we have to be 100%, and that's the players. best placed to know.

If you go out on the field there is no excuse after the match because you have been impaired by an injury”.

The problem, you see, is that Casemiro is not there either, suspended after a ghost card on the way out (it must also be said when it is in the right direction), which no longer leaves a lot of people to play catch up with the returning races of Neymar and Messi inside the game. If Kroos should not start, it is Camavinga who will stick to it.

The former Rennais is coming off a very good match (and a goal) against Real Sociedad, so Carlo Ancelotti pretends to forget that he prefers him higher up, where ball losses are less of a consequence.

“Edu was very good against Real Socieda, he showed all his technical and physical qualities.

He is having a very good time in his season.

I have complete confidence in him, whether at the start or during the match”.

Ancelotti is ironic about the season of "but"

Modric, the last guardian of the temple, validates the presence of the French at his side "He is still young and you have to be patient with him, but what I like about him is that he is not afraid, he has personality.

The match he played the other day was no coincidence given the quality of his training.

He has a great future here.”

Bigger, perhaps, than that of Ancelotti, who knows that he will not easily be forgiven for being eliminated on Wednesday, even if Real is heading for a fairly quiet title in La Liga, barring disaster.

The Italian coach was kindly moved: “It looks like we're having a season of 'buts'.

We win “but” we play too much on the counter-attack, we win “but” if Karim doesn't score we don't win, We win “but” if Courtois wasn't as strong….

On the first leg we had a bad game but I am convinced that the best Real Madrid can compete with the best PSG, and I am hopeful that we will see the best Real Madrid on Wednesday.

".

If so, it'll be worth a look.
