[Commentary] On March 6, the second competition day of the Beijing Winter Paralympics, the barrier-free environment inside and outside the venue was highly recognized by people from all walks of life.

According to Liu Yumin, director of the Planning and Construction Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, the Beijing Winter Olympics will focus on athletes and create a temperature-free and barrier-free venue environment in all directions.

We have specially formulated the "Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games Disabled Services Knowledge Manual", so that barrier-free facilities and barrier-free services complement each other.

  [Explanation] In fact, China's care for the development of the cause of the disabled and the disabled group has already risen to the legal level.

  There are a large number of disabled people working in our factories, schools, and administrative units. Currently, we have more than a dozen disabled people in the Winter Olympics Organizing Committee.

  China's overall development of the cause of the disabled and the care for the disabled group are clearly stipulated in the Constitution, the basic law "Civil Code" and the "Law on the Protection of Persons with Disabilities". Governments at all levels and the whole society are The arrangement of various policies, various systems and various working mechanisms has been tilted and taken care of.

  [Explanation] Guo Xusheng, vice chairman of the Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation, introduced that Beijing has specific laws and regulations for the placement of disabled groups in social life.

  As far as Beijing is concerned, it is very clear that people with disabilities can be placed nearby and easily to participate in social life, including rehabilitation, employment, education, etc. Basic rights, these are specific provisions of laws and regulations.

  [Explanation] Before the opening of the 2022 Winter Paralympics, a total of 140,000 barrier-free sites were renovated, rebuilt and newly added in Beijing, which was 7.7 times that of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The process of building a "city of two Olympics" has greatly contributed to the formation of a more inclusive, equitable and friendly cultural environment in Beijing.

  For example, the stands, barrier-free seats and barrier-free toilets of the National Aquatics Center have been increased in size and will be retained as permanent facilities after the competition, and the best seats for watching the competition are also reserved for the disabled.

It is the mission of the 2022 (Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee) and our responsibility to bring a sense of security and happiness to friends with disabilities.
