Former Manchester United coach O'Farrell dies

Frank O'Farrell, who coached Manchester United for a short period after Busby died in 1971, died Monday at the age of 94.

United mourned the former West Ham United, Preston North End and Ireland national team player via their website.

The Premier League club said: "While Frank's 18-month tenure in United's leadership has been tumultuous, there is no doubt that he was a talented coach and an unquestionable man."

O'Farrell joined United, the 1968 European Cup winners, after leading Leicester City to the FA Cup final in 1969. After Leicester's relegation, he returned to the top flight as champions of the Second Division in 1971.

O'Farrell also captained the Iran national team between 1974 and 1976.
