A white 'Z' is seen on the chest of Russia's Ivan Kuliak, who competed on the men's parallel bar at the Doha World Cup, where a large number of Russian and Ukrainian players participated.

The Z is derived from the Russian pronunciation of 'to win' and is a mark affixed to Russian tanks and vehicles that invaded Ukraine.

An outright supporter of the war, Kuliak finished third and made it to the podium along with first place Ukrainian Ilya Kovtin.

Kuliak did not remove his support for the war again this time, and the two fighters did not even make eye contact during the commemorative photo shoot after the awards ceremony.

The International Gymnastics Federation originally banned Russian athletes from this week, but they started disciplinary proceedings against Kuliak, saying that a shocking situation occurred in the last competition just before the ban.

At the women's floor exercise awards ceremony that followed, the Ukrainian athlete, who placed second, and the Russian athlete who placed the medal first and then placed first, left the awards ceremony before entering, expressing antipathy.
