Tiril Eckhoff won the hunt start in Kontiolahti, despite two booms in the last shooter.

This was Norway's first victory in the World Cup for this season.

At the Olympics, she won three medals, a great achievement after the start of the season she had.

In December, she interrupted the VC competitions in Annecy, France.

- It has been a very tough journey and I was very far down in December, I did not recognize my body, something was wrong and I went home, Eckhoff says to SVT Sport.

- I got sick on top of that too.

First victory for this year

In December, she told Norwegian TV2 that she would take medical samples to get answers as to why her body felt heavy.

Then came the Olympics and the Norwegian was suddenly felt again, she took silver in the mass start and two more medals on top of that.

- I started again from the beginning, but I managed to get in good shape for the Olympics where I came home with three medals, says Eckhoff.

On Sunday, the first victory in the World Cup for this season came, when she won before the Italian Dorothea Wierer and the German Denise Herrmann after full shooting until the last shot.

There were two booms and the excitement resumed after Eckhoff seemed to have decided the race earlier.

- I am very relieved that I now took a victory in the World Cup as well, she says.

Best Swedish was Elvira Öberg in ninth place, with four booms.
