When Hector, with starting number seven, reached the finish line, she was 0.11 ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin who got a hug from her close friend.

The Swede was about to go into the cameraman in a dramatic sequence but managed to slow down with one ski parried in the air.

- You do not want the skis near the body because the edges are sharp, says SVT's expert Pernilla Wilberg.

Lost time in the final hang

At the penultimate interval, Hector was 0.45 ahead of Shiffrin but a small miss caused the lead to shrink in the final hang.

- She lost some time at the end and maybe she took a little too much height in the last gate but it is a balancing act, says Wilberg.

It is perfect conditions with a well-groomed course with a good supply of snow that flows in the sunshine in the alpine Swiss resort.

A smiling Hector switched between the leadership chair and giving interviews from the mixed zone.

The competition is ongoing.
