The Russian national football team suffered from the harsh verdict of the international sports federations almost more than the rest.

In March, she was supposed to hold play-offs in Moscow for the right to take part in the final stage of the 2022 World Cup, which the whole country was waiting for without exaggeration.

However, at one point the team lost hope and without a fight was left out of World Cup qualification.

Despite this, it was still decided to assemble the national team at the end of the month.

The players will meet on March 21 and will work together until the 27th.

This became possible thanks to the return of the 22nd round of the RPL to the originally agreed dates - March 19 and 20.

Moreover, Valery Karpin's wards will play a friendly match.

According to the specialist, the youth team, which also needs to play with someone, is likely to become an opponent.

“The issue of finding an opponent is under study.

We choose whether we will have a sparring with the participation of only the players of the national team or we will meet with the youth team.

We'll leave on the 27th.

The collection will presumably take place in Moscow, but I can’t say where exactly, ”said the coach.

However, theoretically, the team still retains a chance to participate in the joints.

On Thursday, the RFU filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of FIFA and UEFA to remove them from international competition.

According to Karpin, he met the unpleasant news calmly, because he understood that such a development of events was possible.

“There was no horror, no shock, no memories of the defeat against Croatia.

He told his wife: "We will not be at the joints."

It is difficult to call it a natural result, but there was an understanding that this could happen.

It is clear that all the players are in shock.

They say it's unfair.

But I’m sure that even if we got a point in the confrontation with Croatia and won a direct ticket to the world championship, we would still be removed from it, ”the mentor emphasized.

Nor does he believe that CAS is capable of taking Russia's side.

The coach called the expectation of the best in the current realities "the search for hope in a hopeless situation."

However, FIFA has not yet made a final decision on the semi-final play-off with Poland.

This was reported in the Polish Football Union.

“We have not received any documents from the international federation about this.

All information that appears on this topic in the media is speculation,” PZPN spokesman Jakub Kwiatkowski wrote on Twitter.

According to sports lawyer Valery Fedoreev, official papers should be in any case, since the RFU has a reason to apply to CAS.

“We need to look at the documents with the decisions of UEFA and FIFA.

But, as you know, in order to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, a verdict must first be issued, in this case by these organizations.

It is banal that a subject for appeal is required.

Therefore, Kwiatkowski's statement is not entirely clear.

If FIFA and UEFA have made a decision, then they are obliged to notify the Polish federation about it, as well as the Russian one.

It is strange that they say that they did not receive anything.

The document, perhaps, has simply not reached PZPN yet, ”the lawyer explained in an interview with RT.

Nothing is clear about the future of Karpin himself.

At the end of March, his contract with the RFU ends, and nothing is reported about its extension.

According to the expert, this topic was not raised on Friday, and they will return to it closer to the training camp.

“Let's not guess.

Perhaps, before March 31, something will change, either for good or for bad.

To begin with, let's see what happens to the national team, ”the coach explained.

Moreover, it is not yet clear in what form the team will play.

According to sources, his official outfitter Adidas suspended the agreement with the RFU due to the situation around Ukraine.

To this, Karpin joked that, as a last resort, his wards are ready to play in ordinary shirt-fronts.

He also spoke about the composition of the national team for the March training camp, promising to call the best football players in the country at the moment.

But it was decided not to disturb the Russians playing in foreign championships for reasons of logistics and closed airspace.

But the main sensation was Karpin's admission that at the beginning of the year he talked with Zenit striker Artyom Dzyuba.

Since his time at Spartak, he has had a strained relationship with him.

“At the training camp, I contacted him.

We communicated.

Everything went fine.

I met with the Zenit players who were in the national team.

Artyom also asked for a meeting.

He said that he was ready and wanted to play for the national team.

I answered him: “Get ready, train, and we will see whether to call or not,” said the mentor.

He also answered questions about the near future of domestic football.

In particular, the coach was pleased with the fact that more Russians would play in the RPL after the mass departure of legionnaires and called the proposal to expand the Premier League absolutely logical.

“Now we need it, because at the moment our teams have lost the opportunity to play in European competitions.

Plus there will be no breaks for national teams.

30 tours can be done in six months, but what to do in the remaining time?

Although we don’t even know what will happen tomorrow, ”the coach complained.

However, in his opinion, despite the current situation, players should continue to take to the field, because football unites and distracts from heavy thoughts.

“This is an outlet, so both the clubs and the national team must continue to play.

There is hope that everything that is happening will finally come to an end.

Peace will come, and no one will die, ”summed up Karpin.
