  China News Service, Beijing, March 5th. On the 5th, Chinese athlete Liu Zixu won the gold medal in the men's biathlon 6km seated group competition at the Beijing Winter Paralympics.

This is the first gold medal of the Chinese delegation in this competition and the second gold medal of the Winter Paralympic Games in Chinese history.

  According to "Xi'an Daily" and other media reports, Liu Zixu is a young man from Xi'an, 24 years old this year.

In 2008, Liu Zixu suffered a car accident and underwent unilateral lower limb amputation.

Such a sudden change changed the direction of his life, but Liu Zixu did not sink down.

  In 2013, Liu Zixu was selected by the Shaanxi Disabled Persons' Federation Archery Team.

In 2017, he joined the national training team for cross-country skiing and biathlon for the disabled, and has since started ski training.

  Cross-country skiing is one of the most difficult events in ice and snow sports. Facing the harsh weather environment and high-intensity training load, Liu Zixu persevered with tenacious will and perseverance.

  In the cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions of the 11th National Paralympic Games to be held from April to June 2021, Liu Zixu won the runner-up in men's sitting short, middle and long distance biathlon.

  In December 2021, in the Disabled Nordic Skiing European Cup held in Finland, Liu Zixu won the first place in the men's sitting position, which is the first world gold medal won by the Chinese team in this event.
