Klopp sets terms for renewing his contract with Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he may extend his contract with the Premier League club after his current contract expires in 2024 provided he has the energy to do the job.

Klopp, 54, a German, coached Liverpool in 2015 and led them to the Premier League and Champions League titles, as well as the League Cup last week.

Speaking to reporters last week, before the 2-1 win over Norwich City in the FA Cup, Klopp said he did not know if he would extend his contract with Liverpool.

In response to a question before his team's meeting with its guest West Ham United in the English Premier League on Saturday, Klopp said that the decision to extend or not will depend on his "personal energy level".

Klopp added in a press conference yesterday, Friday, "I love my work, but I have said more than once that there must be something else in the world. Currently, I have a lot of energy, but I must make sure that there is this energy (in 2024 before deciding on the extension decision)."

Klopp added, "I am not worried about my future, I do not have a plan and I can make decisions at any time.. But the plans are related to the future of the club and this is what we always work on."

Liverpool, second in the Premier League, won the last 11 games they played in all competitions, and will seek to reduce the gap between leaders Manchester City, the defending champions, to three points, by beating their guest West Ham United later in the day.
