Unpleasant news for Man City .. the most prominent defender misses 6 weeks of injury

Manchester City received a strong blow two days before playing the derby match against Manchester United, with the injury of its Portuguese defense pole, Robin Diach, to a tear in the hamstring muscle of his leg, and he will be out of action for a period ranging between 4 to 6 weeks, according to his Spanish coach, Pep Guardiola, announced today.

The Spanish coach said two days before facing Manchester United, "This is something (injury players) that happens. In previous seasons, our best players were absent for several months. He will not be there, but I will not cry for that, such things happen during the season."

Diash may therefore miss important matches for his team in the coming weeks, most notably the summit meeting against Liverpool on April 10 and the two legs of the quarter-finals of the Champions League, knowing that the team has made great strides towards achieving it by defeating Sporting Portugal with five clean goals.

Diash was injured during his team's match against Peterborough United in the FA Cup last Tuesday, in a match in which the other Dutch central defender, Nathan Ake, was also injured.

Spaniard Aymeric Laporte and John Stones are expected to play in the center of City's defense against United.

Manchester City leads the English Premier League standings, 6 points behind Liverpool, who has a game in hand.
