However, he claims to have "never insulted or attacked a referee".

, Marco Verratti reacts to his two suspension matches (one of which is suspended) imposed by the Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League on Wednesday evening.

Following the defeat of Paris Saint-Germain on February 19 in Nantes (3-1), the Italian midfielder made insulting remarks to the referees.

According to him, the PSG is "cheated on it" by arbitration.

"I could also get angry playing football with my best friend!"

But at the microphone of Europe 1, number 6 persists and signs, he did nothing.

"I hope they will understand, I have never insulted or attacked a referee," he says.

"When we talk to a referee, we play with passion, we want to win. I could also get angry playing football with my best friend! We have important matches, we play under a lot of pressure. Not to mention that if we don't win, there are a lot of things behind it. That's why I think they will understand that I have nothing against them, but that I'm just a bit like that."

Marco Verratti should, however, put on his crampons on Saturday, during PSG's trip to Nice, 3rd in the championship, before facing Real Madrid on Wednesday March 9 in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
