Zamalek stars ignore Mortada Mansour's call to extend their contracts... and the masses are waiting for the "promise"

The Egyptian stars of Zamalek ignored the invitation of the club’s president, Counselor Mortada Mansour, to attend a meeting that decided the renewal of their contracts, which was scheduled for this afternoon, and only the right-back Hazem Emam attended, while the fans of Zamalek waited for the club’s president to implement his threat to players refusing to extend their contracts by freezing.

Mortada Mansour had set between twelve and two in the afternoon a date for players whose contracts expire at the end of the current season, to determine their position on renewing contracts or freezing.

And according to Al-Watan newspaper, which broadcast a live video to cover the renewal of Zamalek players’ contracts, it confirmed that only Hazem Imam was present among the players, accompanied by his father, to resolve the issue of renewing his contract, as he expressed his willingness to renew it unconditionally.

The contracts of nine players expire at the end of the current season, most notably the trio Ashraf bin Sharqi, Tariq Hamed, and Muhammad Abu Jabal.

The club's president attended the scheduled date, awaiting the arrival of the players, amid assurances that Abu Jabal signed contracts to join the Saudi Al-Nasr Club, while the Moroccan Ashraf bin Sharqi refused to renew because of his desire to have a professional experience outside Egypt, specifically in the Gulf.

Tariq Hamed requires the extension of his contract to obtain the late financial dues to him from last season, amounting to seven million, at a time when those close to the player confirmed that he had signed contracts to join the Jeddah Federation, provided that his new contract with the Saudi club is activated as of the first of April in the event of If he does not reach an agreement to renew his contract until the end of March.
