On Thursday, it was time for sprint competitions in Drammen.

On the men's side, four skiers advanced to the quarterfinals.

George Ersson, Oskar Svensson, Johan Häggström and Anton Persson were among the top 30 in the qualifiers.

When the quarter-finals were to be decided, it looked dark for the Swedish part.

George Ersson was the fastest of the Swedish men and took the lead in his quarterfinal.

At first no Swede advanced to the semifinals but then came information that the Czech Ondrej Cerny had been washed.

He ended up right in front of Ersson in the track and made the Swede lose speed.

It was therefore a third place over the finish line.

Wang on the podium for the first time ever

The men's final took the Frenchman Richard Jouve home, his first World Cup victory.

Chinese Qiang Wang took second place, ahead of Frenchman Lucas Chanavat.

Qiang Wang thus combed home his first podium ever.

A nice revenge for the Olympic sprint where he was washed after making it to the semifinals.
