Saudi Arabia will host the group stage of the "Asian Champions" for the Western region next April

The Asian Football Confederation announced on its official website today that the matches of the Western Region in the group stage of the AFC Champions League (2022-2023), will be held in Saudi Arabia, next April.

The Asian Football Confederation decided to hold the group stage matches (the Western region) in Saudi Arabia, from 7 to 27 April, and the capital Riyadh will host the matches of the first and second groups, while the matches of the third group will be held in Jeddah, the fourth in Buraidah and the fifth in Dammam.

While the preliminary stages of the AFC Champions League 2022 will start in March, and the competition will end in February 2023. The Saudi Hilal holds the AFC Champions League title, after winning the 2021 edition, becoming the most crowned player in the history of the tournament with 4 times.

Groups (Al-Gharb region):


The first (Riyadh): Al-Hilal, Al-Rayyan Qatari and Al-Istiqlal Iran, in addition to a fourth team that has not yet been determined.


The second (Riyadh): Emirati Al Jazeera, Saudi Youth, India’s Mumbai City, and the Iraqi Air Force.


The third (Jeddah): Foulad of Iran, Shabab Al Ahly of the UAE, Al Gharafa of Qatar and Ahl of Turkmenistan.


Fourth (Buraidah): Al-Duhail of Qatar, Sepahan of Iran and Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan, in addition to a fourth team that has not yet been determined.


Fifth (Dammam): Qatari Al-Sadd, Saudi Al-Faisaly and Jordanian Al-Wehdat, in addition to a fourth team that has not yet been determined.
