An Egyptian billionaire bids to buy Chelsea FC

Chelsea owner Abramovich is threatened with deportation from Britain.

Egyptian businessman Lotfi Mansour, the Egyptian CEO of Man Capital, the investment arm of his family’s Mansour trading group, topped the scene in Britain hours after his bid to buy Chelsea Football Club, hours after it was put up for sale by its Russian owner Roman Abramovich, who is threatened with expulsion from Britain, against the backdrop of His close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The British newspaper, “The Telegraph”, stated that interested parties were invited to submit official bids to buy the club by March 15, and offers are expected to be submitted this week, noting that the Egyptian billionaire Lotfi Mansour submitted his offer to acquire the club.

The newspaper pointed out that Lotfi Mansour is 33 years old, and holds a season ticket at Stamford Bridge, and he can buy the club.

It is noteworthy that the current owner of Chelsea Abramovich came under increasing pressure during the past week, in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the upcoming sanctions against Russian businessmen in the United Kingdom, which prompted him last Saturday to announce the handover of the "management and care" of the club to the club's trustees charity.

For its part, the Swiss newspaper "Blick" reported that Swiss businessman Hansorg Weiss, ranked among the richest men in his country, is a strong candidate to enter the race to take possession of Chelsea FC.
