It's a well-established tradition in NBA basketball.

The "Hall of fame", "Temple of fame" in French version, brings together the legends of the orange ball in the United States.

Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain… all the greatest players are registered there across the Atlantic, like the best players.

And in France ?

"It does not exist to my knowledge", launches Stéphane Weber, the president of Strasbourg Illkirch-Graffenstaden (SIG), the association from which also comes the professional men's section which evolves in Jeep Elite.

Her club has just had the idea of launching a… “Hall of Women”.

"It started on a pun between fame and women but also because we are in a process of promoting women's sport", rewinds Stéphane Weber, whose idea has seduced the highest authorities.

As a result, on March 26, the president of the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) Jean-Pierre Siutat will reward the first to join this famous pantheon of the Alsatian club.

Audrey Kopp will be honored for her fifteen seasons in the jersey of the SIG.

"He will be given a collector's jersey and afterwards, we will display his photo with a dedication and a miniature jersey on a wall in our room", provides the manager, whose flagship team plays in Ligue 2 (2nd division).

“The idea is also to allow former players to come together and pass on the values of the club”.

Three integrations into the "Hall of Women" are planned per season.

Until there's no more room on the wall.
