The harsh weather conditions during the Olympics in China had consequences.

Among other things, the organizer was forced to shorten the men's five miles with regard to the riders' health.

Before the race, the wind speed was seven meters per second and the thermometer showed -16, which corresponds to a cooling effect of -27 degrees.

The ladies' three miles were also affected by the weather and the strong winds and were driven 3.5 hours earlier than planned.

Ebba Andersson was eight in the race but was third until the last kilometer when the chasing cluster caught up and passed her.

- I have a pretty clear picture of what happened and it is that it is a very strong wind that I encounter in the downhill run.

Then it will be much easier for those behind to chew in the seconds I had, says Ebba Andersson to SVT Sport and continues:

- It's not about a physical blast or something, but it is external conditions that make it.

Under normal circumstances, it could have looked different at the finish line.

Do you think championships should be held in places with these weather conditions in the future?

- I think it is a winter sport that I have chosen and then you can be met by both the one in terms of conditions.

But when there are not fair conditions, you can ask yourself questions about it.

- Maybe especially when it has been so tough that we have seen a collapse here and a collapse there.

Not only in the length arena but also in other competition arenas.

Therefore, I think you could make an assessment before the championship if it is worth it or not.
