Rögle got to celebrate the club's first CHL title.

The first period in this year's CHL final was an even story, even though it was Rögle who had the margins with him.

Even after just under three minutes of play, Daniel Zaar sent in 1-0 in a more or less open goal cage after Anton Bengtsson's finish bounced a bit on a Tappara defender and ended up with Zaar.

- "Bengan" came in the middle and tried to go on a finish that got stuck and somehow the puck came out to me, I see that the goalkeeper has gone full on the first shot so it was just to push it there, says Zaar who really enjoyed of playing in front of a packed home arena in such an important match.

- It's a fantastic atmosphere, I had goosebumps all over my body at the beginning of the match, it's a lot of fun to play, says Daniel Zaar.

Here, Rögle takes the lead in the CHL final

After Rögle's lead goal, Tappara rose a few notches and there is probably no one in Catena Arena who would have thought it unfair if the guests had brought a draw to the break.

The second period continued in the same way as the first ended, with a pretty hefty Tappara press.

They shook one position after another but did not get the puck behind Christoffer Rifalk in Rögle's goal.

- It is almost inconceivable that Tappara has not scored a goal yet, states SVT's commentator Chris Härenstam a bit into the second period after another missed giant position.

Instead, we saw Rögle extend his lead to 2-0 in powerplay.

Goal scorer: Daniel Zaar - again.

In the third period, it finally came loose for Tappara when Waltteri Merelä found the net behind Rifalk after just over four minutes of play.

Here Tappara reduces

The ending was thus dramatic.

But despite a lot of good chances, Tappara did not get the puck and thus Rögle took home the club's first title of all time after 57 years of waiting.

- I'm damn happy and proud.

This is what we're been waiting for: to get a title.

It's the first in the club's history so it's huge.

We aim high and it gives results, says Dennis Everberg.
