The players of the Turkish Erzurum Sport team and its rival and guest "Ankara Gocho" wear T-shirts that read "No to war" except for the captain of the hosts, "Aykut Demir".

A move that the sports media in the Middle East and the world interacted with, and shed light on the event that took place in the match between Erzurum and "Ankara Gocho", in the Turkish Football League.

There were many analyzes and accusations of the Erzurum team leader, who came out to justify his position by saying that "many wars have taken place in the Middle East, and thousands of deaths are claimed daily, and no country or organization has bothered to show solidarity with its afflicted people or reject the crimes that occurred in this region."

Aykot, 33, added, in statements after his team's match, which they lost with a clean goal, that "when it comes to solidarity in Europe, you find everyone, without exception, providing the necessary support."

"But when their eyes turn to the Middle East and the current war in it, you will not find any kind of support for millions who have been killed and others injured and displaced as a result of this war," he added.

He concluded, "I do not want to wear the shirt because it was not made for those countries, and if I did, my conscience would not be at ease, sad because there is war anywhere in the world... and I share the pain of innocent people."

It is noteworthy that the International Football Associations (FIFA) and the European Football Association (UEFA) announced - yesterday, Monday - excluding Russia from their competitions, whether at the level of teams or clubs, until further notice.

"Football is in full solidarity with those affected in Ukraine, and the presidents of FIFA and UEFA hope that the situation in Ukraine will improve significantly and rapidly, so that football will once again become a motive for unity and peace," a joint statement issued by the two federations said.

Under this move, the Russian men's team will be excluded from participating in the play-off qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, as well as the women's team will be excluded from participating in Euro 2022.

This decision results in the exclusion of Spartak Moscow from the European League, where it was scheduled to meet Leipzig in the final price, and this means that the German team qualified directly to the quarter-finals of the continental competition.
