Lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums.. The first match will be with the Emirates

The Iraqi Football Association confirmed on its official website on Facebook that the ban on Iraqi stadiums has been lifted, and that the Iraqi team will be able to play its next match with the UAE national team at Al-Madina International Stadium in Baghdad on the twenty-fourth of next March.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, confirmed that the International Federation of the Game announced its official approval to hold the national team match against its UAE counterpart at Al-Madina International Stadium in Baghdad, as part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

Darjal said, "I informed the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, by phone, of the news, and he offered congratulations to Iraqi sports and athletes, stressing that Baghdad and all Iraqi cities are ready to welcome brothers and friends from all over the world."

He added: "The approval of the International Football Association came after the efforts made by the Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the positive moves and the resounding success in organizing international matches that were held in Baghdad."

Darjal pointed out that "Iraq is fully prepared to embrace the Emirati brothers in Baghdad, and we look forward to this match being a good gesture for Iraqi football, and for the match to appear in the best form in organizational terms."
