60 thousand fans support Wydad to settle the summit with Zamalek... and the fall of Al-Ahly and the Tunisian "Classico" is negative

Moroccan Wydad benefited from the support of about sixty thousand spectators to correct its course in the African Champions League competition, after it defeated its guest Zamalek of Egypt 3-1 Saturday in the third round of the group stage, while Al-Ahly of Egypt, the defending champion, fell to its guest, Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa, with a goal in Cairo. As for Tunisia's "Classico" between Esperance and Etoile, the result was negative.

And at the "Mohammed V" stadium in Casablanca, Wydad overturned its delay in front of Zamalek after three minutes, to an outright victory 3-1.

The "White Castle" team entered the "bottleneck", as it did not win any in three matches, while "Wedad Al-Ummah" regained its balance after falling against Petro Atletico of Angola in the previous round.

This is Wydad's second victory in three confrontations against Zamalek in the Champions League, compared to a single victory for Zamalek, who won the 2003 African Super Cup 3-1.

Zamalek started the match strongly, and quickly managed to seize the goal of the lead through Ahmed Sayed "Zizou", who prepared the ball from a comfortable position and shot it wonderfully from outside the penalty area and settled it in the upper corner to the right of Moroccan goalkeeper Ahmed Reda Al-Taknaouti (3).

Then the owners of the ground dominated the field, as they completely controlled the course of events and intensified the shooting against the Egyptian international goalkeeper, Mohamed Abu Gabal "Gabaski", who ensured many shots.

Wydad Al-Ummah translated its pressure into a tie through Zuhair Al-Matraji with a shot in the heart of the goal, after the ball rebounded to him from Tunisian defender Ayman Mathlouthi, who made a mistake first in dispersing the ball (26).

The giant goalkeeper made a mistake in getting out of his goal to remove a ball raised by Yahya Gibran from a corner kick, and defender Amin Farhan followed it up with a back shot that fell into the Egyptian net (38).

In the second half, Wydad retreated to its own area and closed all the outlets towards Al-Teknaouti's goal. On the other hand, the Egyptian team regained control, relatively, but it was negative, despite the involvement of French coach Patrice Carteron, active offensive players such as Moroccan Mohamed Onajem, Omar Al-Saeed and Hazem Imam.

The Moroccan team reached its goal after a rebound led by the Congolese substitute Jovel Tsomo and passed it to the advanced full-back Yahya Attia Allah, who in turn reversed it with a back pass to Yahya Gibran, who followed it into the net (88).

Within the same group, Petro Atletico won the Angolan summit by defeating compatriot and host Sagrada Esperanca 1-0 in Luanda.

The only goal was scored by Brazilian Thiago Azelao from a penalty kick (33).

Atletico raised its score to 7 points in the lead, in front of Wydad, who has 6 points, and Zamalek is in third place with two points, and Sagrada is fourth with a point.

A fatal fall for the champion

and at the Cairo International Stadium, Al-Ahly fell to its guest Mamelodi Sundowns 0-1 in the first group competitions.

The goal of the match was scored by substitute Thapilo Morena (86), to raise Sundowns' tally to 7 points in the lead, and Al-Ahly remained third with one point and has a postponed match with the second Sudanese Mars with four points, and the Sudanese Al Hilal is bottom of the standings with a point.

The negative tie decided the Tunisian classic summit between Esperance and its guest, Etoile du Sahel, at the "Hammadi Al-Aqrabi" stadium in Rades, in front of about 25,000 spectators in Group C.

Esperance raised its score to 5 points in the lead, compared to three for Etoile du Sahel from three draws in third place, two points behind Algeria's Chabab Belouizdad, who won 2-1 at Guaneng Galaxy of Botswana.
