Athletes confirmed that there were several mistakes made by the Football Association in the process of contracting with the national team coaches during the last period, which led to their departure without leaving a clear imprint on the team, noting that these mistakes consisted in the absence of a goal and a clear vision from the contract, in addition to not choosing the appropriate timing, And the failure to provide the elements and tools that enable the coach to achieve his goals.

They told "Emirates Today": "There are several steps to avoid spending large sums of money when contracting with the coaches of the national team, which is the importance of having a committee that includes specialized and knowledgeable people with great knowledge of contracting with coaches, in addition to the good choice of coaches."

Since the departure of the national coach, Mahdi Ali, in 2017, that is, in just five years, six coaches have trained the first national team.

And the Argentine coach, Rulfo Aruabarina, who was recently contracted to lead Al-Abyad until 2023, succeeding Dutch coach Van Bert Marwijk, is the number six coach on the team list after the departure of Mahdi Ali, and the coaches are:Argentinian Edgar Bowes, who lasted with the national team for a very short period from February 2017 to September of the same year, Italian Alberto Zaccheroni, who led the national team in 24 matches from October 2017 to February 2019, and Dutchman Marvik, who coached the national team in the first stage During the period from March 22, 2019 to December 4 of the same year, and Serbian Ivan Jovanovic during the period from December 2019 to April 2020, the latter did not lead the national team in any matches until the date of his dismissal, to take over the task of Colombian coach Pinto, who led the team in three friendly matches Only, during which he lost against Uzbekistan 1-2, and against Bahrain 0-3, and narrowly beat Tajikistan 2-1, and the Football Association contracted with Marvik again, but the latter also left due to the decline in the results of the team, which is currently ranked third in the first group in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

For his part, a member of the Board of Directors of the former Football Association, technical analyst at Dubai Sports Channel, Mohammed Matar Ghorab, confirmed that the absence of goal and vision and the failure to choose the coach at the appropriate time, contributed to the poor results suffered by the national team in the past period.

He stressed that even if the best coach in the world was hired, he would not achieve anything without the presence of elements capable of achieving this goal.

For his part, the former Secretary General of the Football Association, Imran Abdullah, said that the problem is not with the coaches who succeeded in coaching the national team, whom he described as one of the best coaches, the last of whom was coach Marvik, compared to what he achieved with the Dutch and Saudi national teams previously, noting that The real flaw is the lack of tools that help these trainers reach the desired goal.

The former member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, Dr. Salim Al Shamsi, stressed that when contracting with any coach, one must know the stage the team is going through, its capabilities, ambitions, needs and the existing elements.

Salim Al Shamsi wondered about the feasibility of hiring a coach just because of his name, without considering whether he is suitable for the team or the stage he is going through or not.

In turn, the players' agent, Walid Al Shamsi, confirmed that former coach Marvik's contract was to expire next March, so why was he fired instead of waiting until his contract expires so that the Football Association does not have to pay the penalty clause?

Pointing out that the large sum of money in the penalty clause of Marvik's contract was the reason behind not sacking him for a while, considering that the penalty clause is a red line for coaches.

He added, "There are first-class coaches like Marvik and Queiroz that you cannot impose your conditions on them."

Walid Al Shamsi indicated that whether for clubs or teams, the head of the technical committee or the person managing the negotiations is the one who sets the contract for the coach, pointing out that it is generally accepted in contracts that a three-month period must be left in the contract in the event that one of the parties wants to terminate the contract. The contract, in addition to the fact that there must be a proportion and proportionality, whether in the contract or the penalty clause.

He added, "Most of the coaches who come to us want to get the most dollars because they know that the rate of dismissal of our coaches is the highest."

Walid Al Shamsi believed that most of those who draft contracts or heads of committees that contract with trainers are not specialists.

Mistakes made by the Football Association

1- Lack of proper vision and planning to reach the desired goal.

2- Not choosing the right timing when hiring a coach for the national team.

3- The lack of elements that help the trainer in achieving the required goals.
