Before the Olympics, SVT reported on special conditions for the participants in connection with the championships.

Among other things, the humpback national team was the first to try out the "superworm" that was intended to protect against covid infection.

Once in place, the situation was special for the Swedes.

The long distance national team doctor Jan Wall talks about the experience:

- There were no natural meeting points.

The environment around and everything.

We were bussed from the Olympic village to competition venues.

Normally they jog in the mornings and after workouts, but here you could not move freely, down there it was like a fenced-in picnic area.

Sometimes you felt a little like a prisoner.

There were high fences everywhere and guards around.

It was a strange life we lived, he says to SVT Sport.

"Eat the psyche"

Wall believes that the Swedes were not alone in feeling that way.

- It was a strange Olympics.

Normally you get to make contacts and talk to other athletes.

But now with bubbles that we had to avoid infections, which we always try, it became very special.

It has been so throughout the Olympics.

It's amazing that we're pretty much all managed to get rid of the covid.

But it also eats away at the psyche when you get to live so special.
