Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo commented on the Russian war on Ukraine, and revealed his happiness despite the criticism directed at him for the decline in his level, referring to the date when he plans to retire from football.

"We need to make a better world for our children. We pray for peace in our world," Ronaldo said via the Stories feature on his official Instagram account.

Despite the decline in his level and the attack on him in the recent period, Ronaldo revealed his happiness, indicating that he will play for several more seasons;

"I know I don't have a lot of years left to play, it could be another 4 or 5 years, we'll see what happens," he said.

This means that he intends to play even after the age of 40, when he is now 37 years old.

Ronaldo added, "My life has been a beautiful journey, I left my mark everywhere I went. Some players can achieve numbers but I think no player in history can be proud to say that he left his mark everywhere he went, and that makes me happy."

Ronaldo is going through the most stages of his football life without hitting the net, or even affecting the matches, and this was evident in the match of his team (Manchester United) against “Atletico Madrid”, in which he only shot one ball on the goal.

The Portuguese star has scored only one goal this year, which was against "Norwich City" - bottom of the Premier League table - setting a negative record in his career full of achievements.
