She won three medals in Beijing and became not only the sprint queen but also the relay hero and unexpectedly four in the three miles.

When Jonna Sundling came home late Monday night after a plane crash, early boarding awaited to join the Morning Studio.

And so it has continued.

- It was really just home and turn around and pack the bag and then pull again.

But I have prepared myself mentally for it so it has still gone very well.

I'm a little tired in my head after all the traveling but it's starting to get better now, Sundling says to SVT Sport

Jonna Sundling is used to moving, but all the travel and commotion has made it difficult.

And therefore she is somewhat uncertain about her form ahead of Saturday's sprint competition in Lahti.

- Now I have started to move for a few days so the feeling is good.

But we will see what the body can deliver.

Sundling is admittedly the favorite in the sprint in Lahti, but there is no chance of winning the sprint cup because she missed large parts of the season after her injury in late autumn.

An injury that seemed to shatter the Olympic dream.

"I was in shock"

- Once the injury happened, I was a little shocked and worried about how everything would be because then I did not know where it was for the injury.

- But when it turned out that it was ligaments on the outside of the thumb that were damaged and that I only needed some plaster and a few weeks in rehab, then I could still see the light in the tunnel.

I could still see myself being in place in China at the Olympics.

But since it would go so well, I might not have dared to believe then, admits Sundling, who has said that in addition to the gold in the sprint, she is most satisfied with the race that did not win a medal at the Olympics.

The fourth place in the three-mile gave more taste and a belief that there is a bright future as a distance skier.

The plan is to ride even 10 km classic now on Sunday.

- That's the idea, but then we'll see how it feels.

Holmenkollen can get rid of

You hinted a few days ago that you want to go three miles in Holmenkollen.

Have you thought about it more?

- It feels good so .. it's not something I will deduct in the first place.

But nothing is nailed and I have not put up a plan but I take it day by day and see what the body says now after the championship and all the traveling, says Sundling who thinks she knows why the fourth place at the Olympics was possible.

- I really hope that I have taken steps and that it was not just a one-time phenomenon.

I still think that it is because I have had good continuity in training.

Even when I was injured, I could train very well and follow my plan.
