Elias Pettersson has received a lot of criticism for his play during the first half of this season and has sometimes been poked from Vancouver's top chains.

Lately, however, things have started to look much better and right now it can be said without concern that he is one of the NHL's hottest players.

In tonight's meeting with hot Calgary, the Swede accounted for two goals and an assist when Vancouver won 7-1 and he has thus produced ten points in the last four matches.

Two shots in the crossbar

Pettersson started the shooter with a patented direct shot from the right technical circle in powerplay.

The shot was fine in the far cross but it was a bit of luck involved when the shot was guided in via Calgary goalkeeper Jacob Markström's club shaft.

A moment later, he then played until JT Miller's 2-0 goal in powerplay and a bit into the third period, he definitely put the nail in the coffin when he twisted the puck in boxplay and sent in 7-0 with a well-placed supervisor.

Another who has been really hot lately is Elias Lindholm.

Before the meeting with Vancouver, he had ten straight games with points (nine goals and seven assists), but that suite was broken last night, just like Calgary's ten game long winning streak.
