32-year-old Bahta won the season's best when she took home the Swedish Championship gold in a time of 8.55.75 - faster than anyone else who ran in Telekonsult Arena in Växjö.

The qualifying limit for the WC is 8.49, but if 15 runners do not reach that limit, it is still possible to reach the WC with a worse time.

In addition to the Swedish Championship program, a discus competition was also arranged in the adjoining hall, where the Swedish throwing stars usually train.

The only competitors in the men's class were the Olympic champion Daniel Ståhl and the silver medalist Simon Pettersson.

Ståhl showed that, although the indoor season is traditionally not when a discus thrower should be in the best shape, he already has impressive lengths in his body.

He hit with 67.42, a new personal and Swedish record indoors by half a meter.

In his last throw for the evening, the discus landed at over 71 meters, which would mean a world record, but it was unfortunately a trampling for Ståhl.

Pettersson was barely two meters shorter with his 65.60.
