At the end of last year, the 35-year-old man Amrit Magar became obsessed with Emma Raducanu, 19, who won the US Open last year.

Magar appeared at Raducanus' home, where she lives with her parents, on three different occasions between November 1 and December 4.

Among other things, Magar left a bouquet of flowers outside the star's home and a note stating that she deserved love.

Another time he left a map to show the distance he walked between Raducanus' home and his own.

He also stole one of Raducanus' father's shoes, believing it was his daughter's.

The last visit came in early December when Magar decorated the family's home with Christmas lights.

Raducanus' father then recognized him, followed him before calling the police.

- All this has scared me, I feel very worried about going out, especially if I'm alone.

It feels like mine that freedom has been taken away from me and I look over my shoulder all the time.

"I do not feel safe in my own home, where I should feel safest," Raducanu told the court, according to The Guardian.

In addition to a five-year restraining order and 200 hours of community service, Magar is also sentenced to an eight-week curfew between 9 pm and 6 am, a sentence that is monitored using an electronic chip.
