The Norwegian national team player Omar Elabdellaoui, 30, was involved in a serious accident when he celebrated the new year, 2021.

A firework rocket exploded in his hand and Elabdellaoui was taken straight to hospital with burns and was then completely blind.

Got stem cells implanted

The former ManchesterCity defender performed eleven operations and had stem cells implanted from his sister Ikram.

Eleven months later, the 30-year-old announced that he had regained his sight and was able to return to training with the Turkish big club Galatasaray.

"When the accident first happened, it was completely black for me, I was completely blind and my face burned.

I slowly regained sight in my left eye and after a while I could see perfectly with it. My right eye was badly damaged and I have been blind in that eye until recently when I have managed to regain sight ", wrote Elabdellaoui on social media then.

“Really missed this feeling”

On Monday, he finally made a comeback on the football field when his Galatasaray defeated Goztepe 3-2 after a magical turn in the final minutes.

- They have always stood by my side from day one and supported me. I will never forget it and I really appreciate it. The coach wanted me to come here and it is a great moral boost for me.

I hope I can get back in shape as soon as possible, Elabdellaoui told Galatasaray's website in November last year.

On Monday night, the Norwegian star published a picture on social media.

- I really missed this feeling.

Thank you all, he wrote.

On social media, he was hailed by several teammates, including his former teammate in Dutch Feyenoord, John Guidetti.

"What a fighter you are", the Swede wrote on social media then.
