Ebba Andersson was in the bronze place for large parts of the race - but lost all the last bit towards the finish and finished eight.

Instead, it was Jonna Sundling who became the best Swede.

Sprint champion Jonna Sundling made a new strong race and finished in fourth place.

She never tried to challenge the crowd, but saved her strength and ended up being just over two seconds from Niskanen in the bronze place.

"Feels like a podium"

After the race, the sprint specialist was more than happy with his effort.

- It's so fantastically fun, it feels like a podium.

I value it as much as the medals, she says to Radiosporten.

Sundling can return home to Sweden with good results in his luggage.

In total, there was one medal in each denomination for the 27-year-old.

The winner of the competition was Therese Johaug in superior style before Jessica Diggins and Kerttu Niskanen.
