"Each of you strives for the best, but also wants the best for your competitors and cheers them on. We are deeply moved by that. You not only respect each other, but support each other. Even when your countries are against each other because of conflict , you hug each other too."
"You have overcome these differences and proved that no matter what we look like, no matter where we come from, no matter what we believe in, we are all equal in this Olympic family."
Bach said that he will share this Olympic spirit with all athletes who cannot realize their Olympic dreams due to the epidemic.
He called on the international community to provide equal access to vaccinations for everyone in the world.
In his view, to finally overcome this epidemic, we must pursue faster, higher, stronger, and more united.
