Elvira Öberg, 22, made her first Olympic Games in Beijing.

And what a success it was.

The debutant goes home from China with a gold and two silver medals.

With that, she is the most successful woman in the Swedish Olympic team.

For her achievements, she is now rewarded with carrying the Swedish flag at the closing ceremony.

- I came to the Olympics with dreams of getting an Olympic medal.

Now I go home with three medals and with memories for life.

It has been an incomparable week for me, especially as I have had to share this time with a team that is like my other family, says Elvira Öberg.

18 Swedish medals

In total, there were 18 Swedish medals in Beijing.

With eight gold, five silver and five bronze, it is the most successful Winter Olympics of all time for the Swedish part.

With its three medals and offensive efforts, as well as biathlon in general, Elvira is a fine representative and flag bearer for the successful Swedish Olympic team, says team manager Peter Reinebo.
