Sudan newspapers criticize Al-Ahly of Egypt, "the third in the world"

The Sudanese newspapers described Al-Ahly of Egypt as the lackluster team after its negative draw with their Sudanese team, Al-Hilal, in the match that brought them together, Friday, in Omdurman, in the first group competitions of the African Champions League, which also includes Al-Merreikh of Sudan and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.

The "Kush News" website titled the match: "Without fans, the Sudanese Al Hilal snatches a draw from Al Ahly's lackluster," explaining that "Al Hilal snatched a draw from Al Ahly, the champion of the last two editions of the African Champions League, especially in light of the fans' failure to attend the match."

The newspaper "Akhbar Al-Sudan" titled: "A tie decides the Al-Hilal and Al-Ahly match in the Champions League," noting that Al-Hilal could have defeated the "third world."

The match did not rise to the required level, especially since Al-Ahly was finally crowned in third place in the Club World Cup, while Al-Hilal plays on its own land, which frustrated the followers, especially since the match was held without a public presence in implementation of the penalty of the Confederation of African Football against Al-Hilal and its fans, who had stormed the stadium in a match A precedent between the two teams in the same tournament during one of the previous editions.
