The championship race in the English Premier League is open again.

Leader Manchester City lost spectacularly in their own stadium 2: 3 (1: 1) against Tottenham Hotspur with the outstanding double goal scorer Harry Kane.

Manchester City are now six points clear of second-placed Liverpool, who beat Norwich 3-1 on Saturday but have played a game fewer than the champions.

Both teams will also meet in a direct duel this season.

Tottenham took the lead early on through a goal by Dejan Kulusevski (4th minute).

But the German international Ilkay Gündogan (33rd) equalized in the first half.

After the break, a spectacular game developed in which Kane (59th) first put the guests from London back in the lead and then even supposedly increased it, but his goal to make it 3-1 was disallowed for offside after video evidence.

In injury time, Man City was again awarded a deserved hand penalty after video evidence, which Riyad Mahrez (90 + 2) converted.

Then City increased the pressure again.

But in the seven-minute added time, Kane (90+5) scored the winning goal for Spurs, who also brought the result over time in the hectic final phase at the Etihad Stadium and are now seventh in the table.

Liverpool and Chelsea with a lot of trouble

Thanks to the attacking stars Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah, Liverpool FC turned a deficit against relegation candidates Norwich City in just a few minutes in the afternoon and won 3-1 (0-0) at home in Anfield.

With that, coach Jürgen Klopp's team reduced the gap to leaders City to six points.

At the same time, club world champions FC Chelsea struggled to make it 1-0 (0-0) at Crystal Palace.

With a mixture of overhead kick and side kick, Africa Cup winner Mané (64th minute) equalized for Liverpool before Salah (67th) turned the game around with his 150th goal for the Reds.

Goalkeeper Alisson provided the template for Salah with a wide tee shot.

Winter signing Luis Díaz (81st) finally made everything clear for the Klopp team.

Previously, the former Bremen Milot Rashica (48th) outsider Norwich shot into the lead.

Liverpool's Joel Matip had deflected Rashica's shot past Alisson.

A week after winning the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, Chelsea struggled against the defensive Crystal Palace for a long time.

Just a few minutes before the final whistle, Hakim Ziyech (89') scored the winning goal for Thomas Tuchel's team.

In the 75th minute, an alleged goal by Ziyech was disallowed after a minute-long VAR analysis because Romelu Lukaku had just been offside.

After 25 games, the Blues sit third in the Premier League table with 50 points, while Liverpool are second with 57 points.

The two sides meet in the League Cup final at London's Wembley Stadium next Sunday.
