George Weah's son hopes to play for Milan one day

Lille striker Timothy Weah expressed his hope to play for AC Milan in the future, given that he is "part of his family's history".

George Weah, Timothy's father, spent five seasons with Milan in the 1990s and contributed to winning two Serie A titles, and became the only African player to win the Ballon d'Or for the best player in the world.

Timothy, 21, the American striker of Liberian origin, told La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Sunday, "Of course I focus on my career with Lille, but my ambition has always been to play one day in a great league like the Italian league, especially with a big club like Milan, being Part of my family's history.

He added, "My father did not talk about it explicitly, but when I was a child there was the idea of playing in the youth sector in Milan, things went differently, but maybe he joined Milan in one way or another."

Weah concluded his speech by saying, "Things go very quickly in football, you never know what will happen."
