The Tunisian League is back after a three-month hiatus

The Tunisian Football Premier League will return tomorrow, tomorrow, to the rotation again, after stopping for about three months, in the absence of the defending champion and runner-up, Etoile du Sahel and Sfaxien, because they are busy with continental competitions.

The activity of the league, which is being held this season in the two groups system, was suspended due to the national team’s participation in the Arab Cup and the African Cup of Nations.

It was scheduled to resume competitions two weeks ago, but the clubs suffering from a stifling financial crisis refused to return before their problems were resolved.

The eighth round of competitions kicks off when Bizertin will face its guest, USM Tataouine, on Saturday, while Hammam-Lif will meet USM Ben Guerdane on Sunday in the first group.

Esperance leads the first group standings with 16 points, three points ahead of CS Sfaxien, its direct follower, while USM Ben Guerdane is third with 11 points from seven matches for each team.

Bizertin shares with its guest, Ittihad Tataouine, fourth place, with ten points each, and each hopes to reap the three points with the resumption of activity.

Bizertin hopes to take advantage of playing at home to win and support his chances of competing for one of the three places that qualify for the title race.

Bizertin is looking to continue his good results before the championship stops, but he fears that he will be affected by the lack of fitness in official matches for a long time.

In the second match, Hammam Al-Anf, returning this season to the League of Lights, hopes to overcome the faltering start of the season and achieve awakening with the return of the league's activity, but its task will not be easy.

Hammam Al-Anf occupies the last place in the first group standings with four points from one win, one draw and five defeats.

The second group competitions will open when the Monastir Union hosts Hilal Cheba on Saturday, while the African will face its host Rejeesh, and Olympique Béja will meet Tarji Zarzis on Sunday.

Union Monastir, led by coach Faouzi Benzarti, is looking forward to achieving victory and tightening its grip on the top of Group B and getting close to qualifying for the title competition stage.

USM Monastir is in the lead with 17 points, while its host Hilal Cheba is in fourth place with eight points.
