44 of the world's top runners take part in the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon

The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority revealed, during a press conference held on Al Marjan Island, the participation of 6 new athletes in the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon 2022, to complete the list of global runners of 44 stars participating in the "Elite" group, in the upcoming race that starts on the 19th of this month.

The press conference was attended by Raki Phillips, CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, Andrea Traboyo, Director of the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon, in addition to a number of international athletes who confirmed their participation in the race, including Ugandan runner Jacob Kiplemo, the world record holder for the half marathon, Kenya’s Abel Kipshumba, winner of the second-fastest time in the half-marathon, Ethiopia’s Ababelle Yeshane, 2020 Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon winner, two-time world champion and two-time Olympic silver medalist Helen Oberi in the 5000m class, Amanal Petros and Genzebe Dibaba.

The highlight of the press conference is the official announcement of the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon attracting 44 of the world’s most prominent runners, to compete for the title and medals and to win a share of the financial prizes totaling 1,219,000 dirhams, which will be distributed to the participants who will achieve The first places in the "elite" category in addition to the other major categories.

The race will witness intense competition, with 14 female and 30 female runners participating in the Elite category.
