Pre-season on the Iberian Peninsula is more or less an annual tradition for the men's Swedish clubs.

But calling women's teams on site has been all the more rare.

This year, however, BK Häcken took over Spanish Marbella with both its men's and women's teams.

- We had ten good days with Häcken and come straight in here, so we have trained well and had incredibly good conditions, says Häcken player Johanna Rytting Kaneryd to SVT Sport and tells how the men's and women's team overlapped on the spot:

- We had training in the same place, the same hotel and everything was really the same way.

Extremely well.

"You want more people to follow"

In addition to Häcken, Hammarby's men's and women's teams also loaded up in Marbella.

- Great fun.

You want more people to see it.

This is an eye opener for more to follow.

As Hammarby and Häcken have worked, they want more people to do the same.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd is now looking forward to taking the chance to show herself and is working to pinch a place in the national team captain Peter Gerhardsson's EC squad.

- That is my goal and that is what you dream about.

I'm going to do anything to take that place.

"Thrives very well in Häcken"

Last year she had a strong season in the damallsvenskan.

And the achievements have received football eyes directed towards the west coast.

Earlier this winter, her agent, Linus Gunnarsson, told SVT Sport that "there is a huge interest in her in Europe".

But the star has chosen to stay in Häcken.

- I thrive very well in Häcken with the conditions we have and how the club works.

I do not feel stressed.

As I said, it is a European Championship this summer and I want to play continuously and do everything to be selected.

Right now I focus on Häcken but in the future I want to get to a better league.

Rytting Kaneryd has one year left on the contract and Häcken thus risks losing another star without financial compensation.

Last year we saw the same thing happen with Stina Blackstenius (Arsenal), Emma Kullberg (Brighton) and Julia Zigiotti Olme (Brighton).

If you leave this summer, for example, Häcken gets money - how much do you think about that?

- Not so much really, you drive your thing and then you have others who take care of such things.

I drive on mine and then Häcken has to solve it.
