Jakob Ingebrigtsen holds the European record and before this race, the goal for the Norwegian was to bet on the world record.

When he crossed the finish line, it was clear that he was erasing Daniel Komen's world record of 1500 meters indoors.

The 21-year-old's world record time was 3.30.60.

- It's fantastic to be back in Liévin.

I'm just happy to be able to run so fast, today was a fantastic day, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen.

"Likes to finish strong"

He went in and led and lay tight in the heels of the hares and drove all the way.

Even though the Norwegian opened strongly, he managed to hold on and finish even stronger.

- I like to finish strong, and it's fun for the audience as well.

It is also good for me that I can increase the pace towards the end - it is always a nice feeling, says Ingebrigtsen.

SVT Sports expert Alhaji Jeng pays tribute to the young Norwegian.

- What a race he does.

Where should this end, says Alhaji Jeng.
