The Egyptian communication platforms witnessed widespread mockery, after the local Football Association announced its thanks to the coach of the Olympic team, Shawky Gharib, justifying this by "rationalizing expenses".
The federation said, in a statement, that the decision came to rationalize expenses, due to the lack of any commitments to the Olympic team until 2023.
The remarkable thing is that this dismissal is the second in less than a year for the Egyptian coach from the same position, if he was thanked after the end of the Tokyo Olympics, in August 2021.
The temporary tripartite committee headed by Ahmed Mujahid returned to use the services of the Egyptian coach the following month, specifically on September 27 of the same year, and they justified this by the presence of a recommendation from the technical director of the Portuguese Federation, Nilo Vingada, despite the union’s knowledge that there were no connections to the team either.
For his part, the journalist Ahmed Schubert said on his television program that the coach of Smouha Club, Ahmed Sami, is the closest to Gharib's succession in the coming period.
At the level of platforms, tweeters indicated the correctness of the Football Association’s decision to thank Gharib, wishing him to occupy his position in the national team, especially if he obtained the penalty clause with each dismissal decision issued against him.

While others supported the selection of Ahmed Sami to occupy the vital position in that age group, stressing his ability to deal with this young age of players, and develop them for the benefit of the team.
Journalist Abdel Qader Saeed commented in his tweet on Twitter, "The dismissal of Shawki Gharib is a respectable decision from the Football Association (Football)... and the decision to appoint him was a disrespectful decision by the previous committee...".
He added, "I wish we could find a respected coach (if we choose a respectable coach) from the available locals, or we see a good foreign coach (we choose a good foreign coach) and stay away from courtesies and the politics of role, paralysis and companionship (and the compliments of friends)."
