The images that were spread around the world in 2019 were exceptional.
When the Austrian police stormed into an apartment in Seefeld, where the World Ski Championships were decided, the Austrian skier Hauke was sitting with a cannula in his arm - just hours before he was to compete in the World Cup's 15 km race.
He, and several other skiers, were later suspended.
Hauke now tells the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet that part of their doping took place in Norway, in connection with World Cup competitions in Lillehammer.
- That's right.
All cross-country skiers who worked with Mark Schmidt (a German doctor who was later sentenced to prison for four years and ten months for having helped 23 skiers and cyclists to get blood doped) visited that apartment in Lillehammer, says Hauke.
- I was there in connection with the World Cup competition 2018, to take blood out of the body immediately after the competition, to take advantage of the blood and not to have problems with the blood passport afterwards.
That was also the reason why Schmidt rented that apartment in Lillehammer.
I know.
