Vancouver is having a hard time.

After the 5-1 win over Arizona the day before, the Canucks suffered another loss at home.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Elias Pettersson each scored a goal, but it was not more fun than that for the home team.

Nightmare period

The visiting Islanders started best and scored five goals in 16 minutes in the first period.

It is noteworthy that the away team accounted for three goals in 31 seconds

Vancouver changed goalkeeper and then woke up to life.

It did not take more than two minutes before the home team reduced to 1-5 through Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

In the second period, Vancouver took over the game more and more and also received dividends.

Elias Pettersson made it 2-5 in the middle of the second period and just over a minute later they were reduced again, through the Canadian Luke Schenn.

The home team continued the hunt for a pick-up in the third period but did not get closer than that.

Islanders Matt Martin extended the lead to 3-6 which was also the end result.

Vancouver now has three losses in its last five games.

At home, the Swedish team has remained tough, just a win in the last five in Rogers Arena.
